The Ethereum Foundation is thrilled to announce a new leadership structure, welcoming Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak as co-Executive Directors effective March 17th. This marks an exciting new chapter in the Foundation's evolution as we continue to support a growing Ethereum ecosystem.
Meet Our New Co-Executive Directors
Hsiao-Wei Wang
Hsiao-Wei brings with her a research background, having served as a core researcher at the Ethereum Foundation for seven years. She has worked across many areas of research and was a key contributor to the Ethereum beacon chain. She has also been actively involved as a community builder, repeatedly organizing high-quality and successful events with the Ethereum community in Taiwan.
This experience provides Hsiao-Wei with insight into how Ethereum has evolved, from its R&D process, to its grassroots community, to its application developers and builders. It also gives her a deep understanding of Ethereum’s core values, and the Ethereum Foundation's unique role within our decentralized ecosystem as a steward of those values.
Tomasz Stańczak
Tomasz comes into the role with a development background as a leader with proven results. He has led the team building an execution client, Nethermind, that has grown to become one of the largest in the Ethereum ecosystem, and successfully expanded from a project to a thriving, global company. At Nethermind, Tomasz has built up an extremely effective talent recruitment and training pipeline, and a highly functional organization. With Tomasz’s expertise, we can create the same kind of engine at the Ethereum Foundation.
Tomasz will continue to be involved in Nethermind, but is in the process of transitioning out of his CEO position.
Over the next few years, the Ethereum ecosystem needs to navigate the challenging transition from being an early-stage project serving a small number of enthusiasts to being a robust permissionless censorship-resistant base layer of the global finance and software stack.
Under the leadership of Hsiao-Wei and Tomasz, EF is going to ensure that Ethereum and the ecosystem can grow while at the same time making sure that this growth advances the core values that motivated Ethereum’s existence in the first place, such as open source, permissionless global collaboration, privacy and security.
